The Norris Mystery
The Norris family have been difficult to research and I know little about them as yet. Because Thomas Norris died when she was very young, Eliza Ann Norris seemed to know very little about her father apart from his name and his occupation.
I had more success tracing the McCarthy family after finding Eliza Ann Norris living with her grandparents in the 1871 census. I was eventually able to find out that Elizabeth Ann McCarthy, the mother of Eliza Ann Norris, married again twenty years after the death of her first husband.
Elizabeth Ann married James Slaughter in about 1888. The Slaughter family of Arundel, Sussex have been well documented on a number of websites including "The Bryan's" and "Familypedia"
I hope to break down my "brickwall"and solve the Norris Mystery one day.
